The MaccabeesThe Maccabees are releasing their debut full-length, Colour It In, in the US on May 22. Along with the release, The Maccabees will be touring the US with Bloc Party and The Noisettes, traveling from the East to West coast, starting May 27 and ending June 16. This band from Brighton, England have been developing public admiration with their energetic shows since they began in 2003. The Maccabees gained wide exposure when their second radio single, Latchmere, was released in April 2006, and an interview with Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 built on the excitement, along with video airplay on MTV2. This gave the band opportunities to open for bands such as The Arctic Monkeys, Ben Folds, Fields, and Wolfmother. (Wikipedia)

The MaccabeesThe internet has played a major roll in the band's success. Each of the six radio singles have circulated music blogs and peer-to-peer networks, helping to generate a fan-base to launch their debut album. Colour It In was was leaked on the web, so their label, Fiction Records, decided to push up the release date, making it available as a download on iTunes (UK) in April.

The band is involved in the development of their graphics and video production, showing that the band has a vision for their art and marketability. Orlando Weeks, vocalist for the band, was an art major in college, and has designed all of their album covers and produced four of their music videos with the help of his brother.
